About this event
Come join us as the Lone Star Skiers and Adventure Club teams up with both the Wine Society of Texas DFW Chapter and St. Mark's Parish to celebrate the harvest with South African wine and traditional food from Africa. The harvest in most African counties is a time to celebrate life's abundance with family and friends and to be grateful for what we have.
This year, we are going to taste some interesting white and red wine blends which feature South Africa's signature grapes - Chenin Blanc (white) and Pinotage (red). Here is the lineup:
Wines Tasted:
Graham Beck Brut Sparkling Wine (Non vintage)
The Wolftrap white wine blend (Viognier, Chenin Blanc and Grenache Blanc) 2023
Lubanzi Cinsault (red wine) 2024
David Finlayson The Pepper Pot red wine blend (Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, Tannat and Cinsault) 2022
Remhoogte Soaring Eagle red wine blend (Pinotage, Merlot, Shiraz) 2020
We will also have a presentation on the upcoming Texas Ski Council Tanzania trip, which Lone Star is participating in. The cost of the event is a $30 donation to St. Mark's Parish. If you would like to join us, email me at: ealutton1@gmail.com. Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend. See you there! Elizabeth Lutton, Vice President of Trips, Lone Star Skiers and Wine Society of Texas DFW Chapter Chair.
