We will be staying at the Riverhouse lodge, a hotel located within Bend, Oregon. The Riverhouse is centrally located in Bend with shuttle buses within Bend and out to Mount Bachelor. Bend is known as one of the "adventure sports" capitals of the United States with many non-skiing activities such as snowshoeing, sledding and tubing, ice skating, a museum and lots of shopping. Bend is also known for its 'brewpub" culture and is the home of the famous Deschutes Brewery. This is a Texas Ski Council trip, so the ski council is also planning at least one excursion, probably to Crater Lake, Oregon. The trip will also include a "brewpub" crawl, so that everyone can check out the many breweries in town.
The cost for 7 nights lodging is $1632 land only for double occupancy, which includes a welcome party and a farewell party. Breakfast is included every day, as well as a free ski shuttle to Mount Bachelor. Airfare is a separate charge, as well as transportation to and from the airport. There are two regional airports in the area, so you do not have to fly into Portland, Oregon in order to reach Bend.
